Sumaya Farhat-Naser

Sumaya Farhat- Naser (Arabic سمية فرحات ناصر Sumayya Farhat Nasir, DMG Sumaiya Farhat Nasir ); ( Born June 11, 1948 in Bir Zait in Jerusalem ) is a Palestinian peace mediator in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Christian attended the boarding school Talitha Kumi German deaconesses in Bait Dschala ( near Bethlehem ). After high school she studied at the University of Hamburg, Biology, Geography and Education, where she was sponsored by the Evangelical Studies Villigst, and a doctorate in applied botany.

1982-1997 she was a lecturer in botany and ecology at the University of Bir Zait Palestinian. From 1997 to 2001 she was head of the Palestinian Jerusalem Center for Women, which has joined forces with the Israeli group "Bat Shalom " for peace.

Sumaya Farhat- Naser is known for its clear expression of opinion to the media and, in particular, bring about, for their various projects in which they motivated women a solution to the Israeli -Palestinian conflict.
