Sumitomo Chemical (Japanese住友 化学 株式会社, Sumitomo Kagaku Kabushiki - gaisha ) is a Japanese chemical company headquartered in Chūō -ku, Osaka and Chūō -ku, Tokyo. It is part of the Sumitomo Group.

The company was founded in 1913 as a fertilizer factory. Today the world include 126 subsidiaries of Sumitomo Mitsui Chemical Group, which, among other things is represented in the sectors of industry, fine chemicals and petrochemicals, plastics production, pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical -specific.
