Summer Days ( And Summer Nights! ) Is an album by the U.S. band The Beach Boys. It was published on 5 July 1965. The album was produced by Brian Wilson.

Formation

While the Beach Boys were on tour, Brian Wilson working on new songs. Wilson hired studio musicians from Los Angeles, the " Wrecking Crew", with Phil Spector recorded so-called, and played the newly composed pieces in the studio. After the tour the band members had merely to record the vocals.

Unlike its predecessor, The Beach Boys Today!, Especially the second side of this album is Summer Days ( And Summer Nights! ) Is a classic Beach Boys album, which is mainly due to the commercial expectations of Columbia Records.

After litigation had 1996, several attributions are changed. Mike Love sued successfully and his name is now a large part in the song-writing and naming. Only the instrumental Summer Means New Love and I'm Bugged at My Ol 'Man are exempt.

California Girls is one of the most famous Beach Boys songs. The single reached number 3 on the charts. Several cover versions of the song were very successful. The version of David Lee Roth came to No. 3 on the Billboard charts.

Let Him Run Wild considered by Beach Boys fans as one of the most popular songs. Brian Wilson should use the song later on his second solo album Imagination.

Summer Means New Love is the only instrumental on the album.

I'm Bugged at My Ol 'Man is a humorous rendering of the conflict between Brian Wilson and his father and former manager Murry Wilson. Brian Wilson sang the song, however, this is not mentioned on the back cover. Instead, we find there the words " Lead, ( Too Embarrassed ) ".

And Your Dreams Come True is an a cappella song that is reminiscent of the Four Freshmen, who are one of the main sources of inspiration for Brian Wilson.
