Summer in the City is a song by The Lovin ' Spoonful from the year 1966. Text and melody come from Mark Sebastian, brother of the Lovin' Spoonful - founder John B. Sebastian, who arranged the song. The instrumental part in the middle is from Lovin ' Spoonful bassist Steve Boone. Producer was Paul Leka.

The song appeared on the album, Hums of the Lovin ' Spoonful and occupied as a single release three weeks number one on the Billboard Hot 100

Use as a soundtrack

1970 Wim Wenders turned his final film at the Academy of Television and Film titled Summer in the City. The song heard at the end of the movie playing in the wintry Berlin.

The song was also in an episode of the Simpsons before ( " Papa 's Got a Brand New Badge " ), continues to slow in the opening scene of the action film Die Hard: Now more than ever and in-game movie lovers guys.
