SummerSlam

The Summer Slam is a discharged annually in August wrestling event of the American League Wrestling WWE. It belongs next to the Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, the four major pay - per-view events (PPV ) of the WWE.

The motto of SummerSlam is recurring "The Biggest Party of the Summer " for several years.

Big Four

The emitted annually in August SummerSlam is one of the Big Four, the four major events, the WWE. The name of the big four ( engl. the big four ) is attributable to the year 1989, when the then WWF held ( predecessor of today's WWE) for the first time four PPVs in a year. Where Wrestlemania was the first annual major event in 1985, followed by the Survivor Series in 1987, the Summer Slam 1988 and the Royal Rumble PPV than 1989 ( one year before was the Royal Rumble premiered on cable television ). Only five years later began the WWE to expand their PPV supply and beamed with the King of the Ring tournament for the first time a fifth PPV in a year.

By 2007, occurred only at the big four of the wrestlers of all three formats of the Show- World Wrestling Entertainment (RAW, Smackdown and ECW). Since the PPV WWE Backlash 2007, this also applies to all other PPVs.
