Sumpfsee

The swamp lake is situated in the southwest of the city Güstrow lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is about 2.7 km long and about 560 meters in the northeastern part, in the south 280 feet wide. On the southeast shore of the lake adjacent to the city Gutov. The swamp lake is a Rinnensee and created during the last ice age ( Weichselian ) from a former meltwater channel which permanently filled after the retreat of ice with water. Inlet receives the lake south of drainage ditches, the dam paddock north of Gutov and north of the Domwiesen. In the north, the waters connecting through Pfaff pond and moat of Güstrow to fog. South of the swamp lake is partially wiedervernässte Gutower polder with a bird -watching tower.

Open the lake is only about to the north exploiting dividend former swimming area.
