Sumpfsee

The swamp lake is situated in the southwest of the city Güstrow lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is about 2.7 km long and about 560 meters in the northeastern part, in the south 280 feet wide. The swamp lake is a Rinnensee and created during the last ice age ( Weichselian ) from a former meltwater channel which permanently filled after the retreat of ice with water. South of the swamp lake is partially wiedervernässte Gutower polder with a bird -watching tower.
