Sun Air of Scandinavia

Sun Air of Scandinavia is a Danish airline based in Billund and based on the Billund airport. It maintains a franchise agreement with British Airways and uses their brand name and corporate design for their operation.

History

Sun Air of Scandinavia was established in 1978 and started in the same year with the flight operations. Originally Sun Air was only in the charter and taxi business operates from 1987 and regional scheduled flights were offered.

August 1, 1996 Sun Air of Scandinavia and British Airways concluded a franchise agreement. Since then, the company flies with the corporate identity of British Airways.

Sun Air of Scandinavia is in sole possession of Niels Sundberg, who is the CEO and one of the pilots simultaneously.

Destinations

Sun Air of Scandinavia operates from Denmark a regional route network as part of the franchise agreement with British Airways, flying to European destinations:

  • From Billund to Munich, Dusseldorf, Brussels, London, Manchester, Bergen, Oslo and Stockholm
  • Aarhus to Oslo, Stockholm and Gothenburg and from there to Manchester
  • From Aalborg to Oslo

Furthermore, the company is engaged with charter and taxi flights and operates brokerage for aircraft.
