Sun City West is a census -designated place in Arizona in Maricopa County. The city is located on U.S. Highway 60 and Arizona State Route 303

History

Before the founding of Sun City West, the area consisted mainly of farms on which cotton was grown. When the city of Sun City grew in the late 1980s far beyond their city limits, of the Del E. Webb Corporation, the independent Sun City West was founded.
