Sun-style t'ai chi ch'uan

The Sun-style (Chinese孙氏) of Taijiquan ( Kai -He called Taijiquan ) is the youngest of the five family styles of Taijiquan and was in the early 1900s by the famous Master Sun Lutang ( 1861-1933 ) developed the this time was a great master in Xingyiquan and Baguazhang. Sun Lutang learned only at the age of more than 50 years, the Wu / Hao style Taijiquan. On this basis, he later developed his own style Taijiquan.

The Sun style Taijiquan is unique in that it combines elements of the internal martial arts Baguazhang and Xingyiquan with classic Taijiquan.

The Sun style consists of 98 movement sequences and is characterized by a very agile footwork and has follow-up steps that were taken from the Xing Yi and Hao Taijiquan. In almost all gestures, the weight is completely on one leg.

Today there are two major lines of the Sun Taijiquan, which differ slightly in the execution of the form. A line goes back to Sun Sun Cunzhou Lutangs son and another line on Sun Lutangs daughter Sun Jianjun.
