Sunda Kingdom

The Kingdom of Sunda ( Indonesian Kerajaan Sunda ) was a historical state in the western part of the island of Java in Indonesia today.

The result is the Hindu kingdom from the decay of the kingdom Tarumanagar in 670 was the Kingdom, after a temporary merger with the United Kingdom and Surda Galuh until his collapse in 1579 and covered the entire western part of the island, from the Sunda strait in the far west to the rivers and Cipamali Ciseray in the east of West Java. Today this area is roughly equivalent to the Indonesian provinces of Banten, West Java, and the western part of Central Java.

The only remaining Hindu temple in West Java is the Candi Cangkuang from the 9th century. It is 14 kilometers north of Garut on a small island in a lake.
