Sundborn

Sundborn is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and Dalarna. The location is situated 14 kilometers northeast of Falun and belongs to the municipality of Falun.

Sundborn is primarily known as the home of the painter Carl Larsson, who lived around the turn of the century here. His house, which is still preserved as in his lifetime, can be visited. In addition, remember above all the Church, for the Carl Larsson painted decorations, and the meeting-house, in which eleven painted by Carl Larsson portraits of local residents are, to the painter. Many of his paintings have motifs from Sundborn.

In addition to Carl Larsson's home is Lilla Hyttnäs, an upper-class villa from the same period, which is now also a museum.
