Sunny Isles Beach is a city in Miami -Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida with 20,832 inhabitants ( 2010).
Geography
The city is located 12 km north-east of Miami and is located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. It borders the municipalities North Miami, North Miami Beach, Aventura and Golden Beach.
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the then 20,832 inhabitants distributed to 18,984 households. The population density was 5786.7 inh. / Km ². 90.6 % of the population were white, 3.2% African American, 0.2% Native American and 1.4% Asian Americans. 2.4% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.2% in different ethnic groups. 44.4% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 32.9 % of all households lived in 20.5 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 54.0 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.04 persons and the average family size was 2.68 persons.
16.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.1% were 20-39 years old, 27.4 % were 40-59 years old and 28.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 44 years. 47.6 % of the population were male and 52.4 % female.
The average annual income was $ 43,500, while 15.1 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 40.70 % of the population spoke Spanish 36.86 % and 22.44 % had a different mother tongue.

Through the city lead the Florida State Roads A1A, 826 and 856 The nearest airports are Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport (16 km), Opa- locka Executive Airport the (national, 18 km) and the Miami International Airport ( 33 km).
Crime
The crime rate in 2010 was 208 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) within the average range. There were seven rapes, six robberies, 20 injuries, 79 burglaries, 359 thefts and 26 car thefts.
