Sunshine Hockey League

The Sunshine Hockey League (in season 1995/96 Southern Hockey League) was a minor league hockey in the American South. It existed from 1992 to 1996.

History

The league was first established under the name Sunshine Hockey League, but in reference to the nickname of Florida as the Sunshine State, where all the teams had their seat, this changed for 1995/96 season in Southern Hockey League, having previously also teams outside of Florida in the League were taken. The name was chosen on the basis of an eponymous Hockey League, which existed from 1973 to 1977.

After several teams of SHL were transferred to the Central Hockey League and took up the game in this mode instead of SHL, 1996, the game operation of the Southern Hockey League has been set.
