Sunshine Project

The Sunshine Project is a non-governmental organization that fights against biological weapons. It has its headquarters in Hamburg ( Germany ) and Austin, Texas (USA).

The name alludes to the ability of sunlight to decompose many biological weapons and render them harmless.

The organization has set their active work on February 1, 2008, but their website is still available.

Foundation

The end of 1999 the German biologist and politician Jan van Aken, the Colombian Attorney Susana Pimiento and the American political scientist Edward Hammond get to know.

In December 1999, van Aken founded "Sunshine Project eV ". A short time later, Hammond and Pimiento open the U.S. office in Seattle, in September 2000 it moved to Austin.
