Sup'Air

SupAir or Sup'Air is the name of a game form of paintball is played in on a flat plane with artificial obstacles. The name comes from the inventor of SupAir - "Adrenaline Games". Paintball tournaments are now held almost exclusively by this pattern.

The playing field

The SupAir field is as level as possible rectangular area on the several coverages (so-called bunker ) are placed symmetrically on both pitch halves. These are filled with air ( comparable with inflatables for children) and have different shapes such as tons, tetrahedron, cube, cone, letters (eg X), and many more. The substrate consists mostly of grass or artificial turf (for example, in halls ), but also sand or indoor surfaces are possible. In tournaments, there are fixed rules regarding the size, but basically no. In addition, write some tournaments, the minimum number of covers on a field of play before, such as the Millennium Series. In the rear center of the two halves of the field is a rectangular erect flag station. This consists of many fields mostly improvised from a short segment of a hoarding.

Game History

Before starting the game, players must touch with their marker their flag station, to prevent premature deliberate fires. By a previously agreed signal the game starts. The game is played until one team has been completely checked, a team has brought the flag of the counterparty to their flag point or the maximum playing time has expired. Who has been selected, it must signal this (most by the cries of "Hit " and by the laying on of a hand is at the head) and leave the pitch immediately. Teams get points by flagging counterparties and from capturing the flag but are flagging players less points.

The types of players

As you play, one is free, but the following player positions have emerged:

  • The front player ( German: Front players) should be very agile and work your way for their team by making quick short covering jumps, or advance " sneak ". They usually have so much paintballs to provide less of a target and be more flexible.
  • The center player or Midplayer ( German: Midfielder ) are the players who take over the tasks of the other depending on the need, if they have been labeled, for example.
  • The Back Cover player or players are players who support their team especially by barrage and communication. They are advancing slowly and keep especially the opposing player in check in order to relieve the front player. In addition, they usually have the best overview, which is why they mainly for prompts (eg by giving the player positions and suggest moves ) are responsible.

Use

The SupAir principle has become the paintball game variant developed at all. Most rules of tournaments and leagues are based on this principle, such as the National Professional Paintball League and the Millennium Series.
