The Ecole Supérieure d' Electricité (official name, often abbreviated Supélec ) is a French engineering school ( Grande Ecole ). It forms within three years from electrical engineering diploma engineers. The public school was founded in 1894, it forms annually from about 475 engineers.

The school is a member of Top Industrial Managers for Europe merger.

History

Supélec was in the 15th arrondissement of Paris from the Société Internationale des électriciens (now Société des électriciens et des électroniciens ) founded in 1894. The first location was in the rue de Staël, was later moved to the Paris suburb of Malakoff. Since 1975, Supélec is in Gif- sur -Yvette, 20 km south of Paris. The campus of Gif- sur -Yvette is located on the plateau of Saclay. 1972, a branch was opened in Rennes, Metz followed in 1985.

Since 2009, Supélec is in talks with the École Centrale Paris. Under the name Project Campus du plateau de Saclay is planned to build an international location in Saclay.

Basic Studies

Supélec is a school " généraliste ", which means that students do not specialize during the first two years. The main subjects Supélec are:

Third year

Student Life

Since most students live on the campus, there are many student activities, such as:
