Super 530
The Matra Super 530 is a medium-range air - to-air missile of the French Air Force and is an improved version of the R.530 dar.
The missile is manufactured in the versions Super 530F and Super 530D. The F- version of the Super 530 was introduced in 1979 with the French Air Force, while the D version was included in the armament from 1988.
The body of the Super 530D is made of stainless steel and is longer than that of the F- version to include an improved seeker and a more powerful solid rocket motor. The missile has a digital electronic system, which improves their ECCM capability.
The Super 530 is currently being developed by MBDA and replaced in the structure similar MICA.
