Super Fledermaus

The fire control unit 63 from Contraves Super Fledermaus ( Flt Gt 63 ) is an omnidirectional pulse radar device that until 1977 came into use in 1965 with the Swiss Air Force in 111 copies. The fire control system Superfledermaus was developed by ten companies jointly and produced. It replaced the fire control radar Mark VII.

Function

The Flt Gt 63 simultaneously controls two 35 mm Oerlikon twin cannon anti-aircraft guns. monitored it with the radar airspace, followed by radar or visually the target to be controlled and determined any delay the shooting data for the connected guns. With the optical Allocator (OZ ) goals can be assigned to the target device directly. The target allocation from the target allocation Radar ( NPER ) is performed with oral radio or telephone communication to the Parallaxrechnerbediener inputs the data into the device. It comprises on a towed trailer, a Doppler radar in the E / F- band with a range of 15 kilometers and a pulse Doppler Rader in the J- band, also with 15 kilometers range. In the first prototype of the anti-aircraft cannon tank Cheetah the system was also used.

Technology

  • Pulse radar with the ability to round or sector search and automatic consequences
  • Range: 40 km
  • Frequency: 8600-9600 MHz
  • Transmit pulse power: 150 kW
  • Weight: 5400 kg
  • Powered by Porsche aggregate 4cylinder, generator 23 kVA 380 V
  • Analog computer with AC technology and computing capacitors / servo systems for indicative target control, Zieldatenerimitierung, lead calculation and Balistikrechner
  • X-band fire control radar " Albiswerk " with Magne gates transmitter, PPI and RH / A representation
  • Sector or omni Search, Conical scan target tracking.

Fire Control / Flt Gt 69 Superfledermaus

The fire control Flt Flt Gt Gt69 based on the 63 and was from 1970 to 1985 in 38 pieces in the Swiss Air Force at the M FLPL Flab Bttr ( Mobile Airfield Flab batteries) in use.

  • Pulse radar level characters suppression
  • Three optical target detectors (OZ )
  • Other information, such as Flt Gt 63

The Flt GT63 and the Fl Gt 69 were replaced with the Swiss Air Force Skyguard fire control system.
