Super Trouper (song)

Super Trouper is a song by pop group ABBA and also the title of their album of the same name. It was written and composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The song has a playing time of four minutes and twelve seconds; the lead vocals are sung by Anni- Frid Lyngstad. In November 1980 it was published by The Piper B-side as a single. The title Super Trouper refers to an eponymous brand of stage lights.

The play is told from the perspective of a musician who is on tour and back longs into the arms of her lover.

Origin and recording

Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson were of the opinion that the album needed another strong song, which was released as a single. So the two two whole days spent in the studio to let come up with this "strong song ." The title was obviously inspired by their last tour of the United States and Japan. The name for the album already existed, as not even the thought had appeared in the piece.

Although the song was ultimately very successful, Ulvaeus had difficulties with the text, which he later put with the words:

" Imagine, you have to write about any damn headlights "

The recording had to Super Trouper, the first working title Blinka Lilla Stjärna ( " Flashing, Little Star " ), began on October 3, 1980 October 14, overdubs were added. The B-Side ( The Piper ) was also used in Japan as a B- side of the single On and On and On.

Success

The single was released around the same time as the album and was able to successfully place. She was the single, with the ABBA in the UK, the last in Germany the penultimate time could reach No. 1.
