Superatom

The so-called " super atom " is the designation for compact and stable clusters of normal atoms, which either have properties of other elements or completely new qualities in the composite. So, in chemical compounds, they act like a single atom, while their bonds do not meet the common bond types. In contrast to Bose - Einstein condensates super atoms are produced at relatively high temperatures and are very stable.

In January 2005, it was reported from a Al13 icosahedral clusters that has the properties of halogen atoms such as chlorine, bromine or iodine. Very similar behaves BAl12. CAl12 other hand, is like a noble gas atom and NAl12 is an alkali metal atom similar.
