Superior Airmanship Award

The Superior Airmanship Award is an award that (short ALPA ) is presented for outstanding aeronautical achievements of the Air Line Pilots Association, International. The award ceremony will take place during the annual Air Safety Awards Gala of ALPA. On that occasion, also films will be shown that adjust with funds from the cinematic Nachvollzugs such as recordings from flight simulators to the honorable performance.

Award winners

  • U.S. Airways Flight Captain Henry Jones and his co-pilot Jim Dannahower for their quick response and professional performance of the maneuver starting at near-accident on the Logan Airport in 2005.
  • Air Transat Flight Captain Robert Piché and his co-driver Dirk Dejager for the longest glide a jet plane, by means of which they, after the kerosene had gone out in 2001 at the Air Transat Flight 236, all passengers and crew saved.
