Superiore anno

Superiore anno of Pope Leo XIII. is the second encyclical on the Rosary, it was released on August 30, 1884, is subtitled " The Rosary and the persistence of Prayer".

The meaning of the Rosary

Referring to the encyclical Supremi Apostolatus officio from September 1, 1883, the Pope recalled that had been ordered at that time to pray the Rosary with great devotion. Now he realize that this wish would be followed with great zeal and that would lead this prayer for the grace of God. Pope Leo XIII. states that the need for great piety and prayer continue to have inventory.
