Supersemar

Supersemar ( abbreviation for Surat Perintah Sebelas Maret, on German 11 -Mar- command ) was an allegedly signed by Indonesian president Sukarno on March 11, 1966 decree, the Lieutenant-General Suharto gave the authorization to take all possible measures to search for the failed coup attempt of 30 September 1965 to maintain order. In retrospect, the Supersemar command is seen as a turning point in the history of Indonesia, the transferred power from Sukarno to Suharto. Sukarno was overthrown in 1966 and 1967, after a year transitional period Suharto finally President and thus the only Sovereign.
