SuperTuxKart

SuperTuxKart, abbreviated STK, a free arcade racing game similar to Mario Kart ( Remake). It runs on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and other operating systems. The latest version is version 0.8.1 dated 25 November 2013.

Gameplay

The objective of the game is to win races against up to four players ( in split-screen mode) or against computer-controlled opponents. Players can collect a variety of power -ups in the form of packets, in order to gain an advantage, and must avoid obstacles. The majority of game characters provide mascot is from the ecosystem of free software, eg Tux ( the Linux kernel ), Wilber ( the GIMP ) or Suzanne (Blender ). In addition to the Grand Prix and the multiplayer mode SuperTuxKart features several game modes. History

STK was created as a spin-off of the unfinished game TuxKart. The main developers are Joerg Henrichs and Marianne Gagnon. STK uses the Irrlicht engine for graphics and OpenAL for sound output.
