Surgical staple

A surgical clip, and the surgical clip is used to compress the wound edges. There may be surgical wounds or eg cut or bite wounds. The brackets can be an alternative to surgical suture. The advantage is the reduced duration of surgery in the first place.

This medical method was invented by the Hungarian surgeons Humer Hultl 1908. His first stapler still weighed 3.6 kg.

The surgical clip is made of corrosion -free steel and is rectangular in the inserted state, with rounded corners and an opening for the wire in the depth of cut. With a stapling instrument, the skin edges are brought together and clamped by disinfection. To remove the brackets a staple remover is used, which bends the clips by applying pressure to the middle of its sides up, in part, out of the skin. The mold then is most likely M- shaped, so that the two legs of the Ms are at right angles to the skin and can be removed atraumatic as possible to the top.

There are also patented plastic brackets that are made of stretchable, a bioresorbable material.
