Surinamese Football Association

The Surinaamse Voetbal Bond ( Abbr SVB ) is the Surinamese Football Association. He organized the games of the national teams of Suriname and also has the supervision of the highest Surinamese leagues. However, a professional league does not exist.

As the football associations of neighboring countries Guyana and French Guiana is not a part of the SCC on the South American continental federation CONMEBOL, but the North and Central American CONCACAF.

When SCC 19 member associations are connected regionally organized under the umbrella of the SCC in football. Every year around 325 teams participate with a total of 8950 registered members of the rounds.

The highest league of gentlemen of the SCC is the Hoofdklasse with 10 clubs. In these clubs the national champion is determined.

Under the Hoofdklasse the Eersteklasse contributes with 12 clubs from their games. As a further substructure are played district championships in the border districts of the capital as well as in some of the 10 districts of Suriname.

In addition to the men's National Women's Championship will be played with seven teams.

Following the resignation of Kenneth Jaliens was hired on September 1, 2013 as the new technical director Ro Kolf from SVB.

Bribery claim

Ahead of the FIFA president election took place on May 10th and 11th 2011, a propaganda meeting of presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam in Trinidad instead. This meeting, attended by the then Chairman of the SCC Louis Giskus was attended organized by the Caribbean Football Union, chaired by Jack Warner. At the end of the event Giskus received as a gift a projector, a laptop and $ 40,000 in cash after the incident had come to the public, the SCC has had to answer before the ethics committee of FIFA. In Zurich, the chairman Giskus explained that he had received the gifts from Jack Warner and should come from CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union. Intended purpose should be the promotion and development of football in Suriname. In early July, the ethics committee ruled that the SCC must pay the $ 40,000 to an account of FIFA at Credit Suisse.

CONCACAF Champions Cup
