Surtur ( Saturn XLVIII ) is one of the smaller outer moons of the planet Saturn.

Discovery

The discovery of Surtur by Scott S. Sheppard, David C. Jewitt Jan and Brian G. Marsden on Kleyna recordings on January 5, it was announced on 26 June 2006 to 29 April 2006. Surtur first received the provisional designation S/2006 S 7 In April 2007, the moon was named after the leader of the fire giants, Surt, from Norse mythology.
