Surujin

The Suruchin (Japanese rope with two weights at the ends ) is a hitting and throwing weapon from Okinawa (Japan).

Description

The origin of the Suruchin is (similar to the Bola ) in the Stone Age, in which we used it as a defense against wild animals. Originally the rope from tree bark (Japanese Surukaa ) was prepared, which gave the device its name. The Suruchin, a cable length of 3, 5, 6, and 8 shaku. It is used to throw it against the enemy, so that it wraps around the body, but can also be used as an impact weapon.

  • The Manriki Gusari, acting as a counterpart, consists of a chain, also with two weights.
  • Also found in South America, a representation of two balls on a string around 1603.
