Surulere

Surulere is one of the 20 Local Government Areas ( LGA ) of Lagos State.

Surulere is about 8 km from Lagos Iceland away on the mainland of Lagos and has an area of 23 km ². At the last census in the year 2006 502.865 inhabitants were counted in order Surulere had a population density of 21 864 inhabitants per km ². Surulere is bordered to the north at Mushin, Lagos Mainland to east, south to Ajeromi - Ifelodun and Apapa and Amuwo Odofin west of Oshodi - Isolo and.

The LGA was separated from Lagos Mainland on 27 August 1991. It is the center of the film industry of Lagos ( Nollywood ) and the entertainment district of the city. In Surulere also built for the Pan-African Games 1973 is Surelere stage.
