Susan Blackmore

Susan Blackmore ( born July 29, 1951 in London) is a British writer.

Life

Blackmore has a master's degree in psychology and physiology from Oxford University (1973 ) and a PhD in " parapsychology " the University of Surrey (1980). Susan Blackmore received his doctorate with a thesis on " Extrasensory Perception as a Cognitive Process ." The study comes to the conclusion that so far no empirically proven theory of such phenomena is secured.

Sue Blackmore no longer concerned with the " paranormal ". Your research and study fields include the theory of memes and memetics, evolutionary theory, consciousness research and meditation. She practices Zen and campaigns for the legalization of drugs.

She writes for various magazines and newspapers and is regular speaker on radio and television. She has authored over sixty articles, participated in approximately forty books and written many book reviews. Among her works "Beyond the Body" (1982 ), "Dying to Live" ( about near death experiences, 1993), "In Search of the Light" ( Autobiography, 1996), and " Test Your Psychic Powers " (with Adam Hart - Davis, 1997).

Her book "The Meme Machine ( 1999) " has been translated into 13 other languages. In the German speaking this work in the spectrum Verlag ( September 2000) is " The Meme or The evolution of culture and spirit" appeared under the title.
