Susan Kohner

Susan Kohner ( born November 11, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American actress.

Biography

Susan Kohner was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of Mexican actress Lupita Tovar. Her father was the agent Paul Kohner, who was in charge, among other things Lana Turner. After a few minor roles Kohner received in 1959 for the film jazz ecstasy on the side of Sal Mineo Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress. A wide audience it was a year later by its appearance as light-skinned daughter of an African American woman in Douglas Sirk's melodrama long as there are people known, the again a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination earned her Best Supporting Actress respectively. The following deals were, however, not very satisfactory and Susan Kohner moved in 1964 from the canvas back after they had been concerned for her role as Martha Freud in John Huston biopic Freud again by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association with a nomination.

Their sons Paul and Chris Weitz are also active in the film business.
