Susan Lynch

Susan Lynch ( born June 5, 1971 in Corrinshego, Newry, Northern Ireland) is a British actress.

Life and achievements

The older brother of Susan Lynch, John Lynch, is also an actor. She made her debut at the beginning of the 1990s in television films and television series, her first feature film was the family film The Secret of Roan Inish (1994, dir John Sayles ). In the horror film Interview with the Vampire (1994 ) she starred alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt on a small part. In the television thriller lies Games (1996 ), she took alongside John Hannah one of the major roles.

For the role of Maggie O'Toole in the comedy Waking Ned Devine! (1998) Lynch was nominated in 1999 for a Screen Actors Guild Award. For the title role in the film drama Nora (2000), she won the 2000 IFTA Award and a prize of Cherbourg- Octeville Festival of Irish & British Film. In the thriller Beautiful Creatures (2000) she starred alongside Rachel Weisz one of the main roles for which she was nominated in 2001 for the British Independent Film Award. In the horror film From Hell (2001) she appeared alongside Johnny Depp.

For her starring role in the mini television series Any Time Now (2002) Lynch won the IFTA Award in 2003. For the role of Mary in the film drama Sixteen Years of Alcohol ( 2003), she was awarded the British Independent Film Award and the IFTA award. For her portrayal of Dr. Maria Orton in the television series Bodies, she was nominated for the 2004 IFTA Award. In 2004, she appeared in the play The Night Season at London's National Theatre and the film Liebeswahn - Enduring Love was published.
