Suvi Teräsniska

Suvi Pirjo Teräsniska Sofia ( born April 10, 1989 in Kolari ) is a Finnish pop singer. Her most famous songs include, inter alia, " Hento kuiskaus " ( fin. " Silent Whispers ") and " Jos menet pois " ( fin. "If you go away "). She took on four albums to date, including a Christmas album. All albums were at least gold records, a total of nearly 150,000 units were sold until the end of 2011. The songs were provided by Jussi Rasinkangas, Toni Nygård, Petri Somer, Lasse Wikman, Jonne Aaron or Saija Aartela.

Life and career

Suvi Teräsniska was born in Kolari, but moved to Oulu with seven years. In her childhood, she sang in the choir " Musarit " with. In autumn 2005, the composer Jussi Rasinkangas noticed her and offered her to record a demo. The recording was sent to several record companies. The Helsinki Music Company showed interest and gave in late fall announced its intention to publish Teräsniskas first single. In 2006 Teräsniska made ​​contact with Olli Lindholm on, the frontman of the band Yö, and offered to sing backing vocals for the band. Lindholm agreed. In 2009, the Christmas album " Tulkoon joulu " and the single " Kylmät enkelit " appeared. In the spring of 2009, Suvi Teräsniska wrote at Leevi Madetoja Music High School in Tampere and moved there. In the same year she won the competition for the best young pop singers of the radio station " Iskelmä ".

The third album " Rakkaus päällemme sataa " was published in 2010, the first single from it was " Jos menet pois ". The album reached second place in the Finnish charts and got the title of " double platinum record ." 2010 pulled the singer back to Oulu.

In the same year, she participated in the choir competition " Kuorosota " the TV channel Nelonen as director of the choir of Oulu in part. The choir sat in the final against the choir through out Pihtipudas. The prize money of 40,000 euros was donated to the children's cancer ward at the University Hospital of Oulu.

In February 2011 Suvi Teräsniska won the Finnish song contest in the categories of best female artist, best album and best entertainers.
