Suzhou Rail Transit

In the Subway of Suzhou (Chinese苏州 轨道 交通, Pinyin Suzhou Guǐdào Jiaotong ) is a currently under construction metro system for the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province of the People's Republic of China. It is in the fully developed state 4 contain lines, one of which - the line 3 - to the west of the city will receive a collateral line. The four lines are a total length of approximately 140 kilometers and 109 stations have ( if you count transfer stations for each line once). Currently line 1 and a portion of the line 2 is opened. With a completion of the entire network can be expected 2016-2020. This will depend mainly on the construction and progress of the remaining lines 3 and 4. A compound of the subway Suzhou to the Shanghai metro network is indeed rumored to be planned, written credible evidence of serious planning in this regard it does not git (yet ). A link would be, for example, from the terminus of Line 3 in Weiting (唯亭) in Suzhou East and the Anting Station (安亭) of Shanghai metro ( line 11 ) is possible in Shanghai's west. This could perhaps be useful in terms of connectivity the city of Kunshan in Suzhou in the west and Shanghai in the east. However, the shortest distance between the two end stations is about 40 km and verliefe in this case almost parallel to an existing rail link between Shanghai and Suzhou, is already connected to the Kunshan. A little further connection would theoretically also between the planned terminus Zhongnanjie (钟 南街) of U1 in Suzhou and the planned terminus Anting (安亭) of U11 in Shanghai possible - here the terminal stations would be almost 45 km apart. A southern connection between possibility would still Zhongnanjie (钟 南街) and the Xujing East Railway Station (徐 泾 东) of U2 in Shanghai - here the distance would, however, almost 60 km.
