Suzuki Alto

The Suzuki Alto is a car model of the Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki. The car is considered Europe's compact car that is in Japan, he is taxed as a kei car.

History

In Japan, even the Alto has been offered since 1979. The model had temporarily every two years to a model change, the boundaries are often difficult to draw the line between a facelift and a really new model.

Generations

Alto SS (1979-1986)

Alto C (1984-1994)

With the change of K -Car Rules 1990, the car is 10 cm longer. The internal names are now CL/CM/CN/CP21. In 1991, the three-door versions will be revised on the basis of stringent safety regulations for side impact protection. Names are now CL/CM22 here. Alto HA (1994-2006)

The HA models of the Alto will be introduced in Japan and India parallel 1994. The Japanese version, which gets a facelift almost every two years is 10 cm shorter than the Indian Maruti Zen, which in turn forms until 1999, the basis for the European Alto. So there are in Japan in 1994 and HA11 HA21 ( first version of three - and second five doors ). 1998 HA12 HA22 and 2000 the HA23 (only three doors ) and 2004 only five-door HA24.

In Europe 2002, a new Alto on the optical state of the HA23 appears. This version has a four-cylinder in -line petrol engine with 1.1 liter displacement newly developed, 16-valve engine and 46 kW.
