Maruti Versa was introduced in October 2001 in the Indian market. He is the second vans from Maruti Suzuki after the Maruti Omni.

It is available in two variants, the eight -seater and seven-seater DX/DX2-Version SDX version. The eight- seater has two air conditioners, one for rear and one for the front. Approximately 70 % of the components of this car will be manufactured in India.
