Suzuki Ertiga

The Suzuki Ertiga is a seven seater MPV, developed the Suzuki along with its Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki. Mazda sells the model by means of badge engineering as Mazda VX -1.

Model history

On April 12, 2012 Maruti Suzuki began selling the compact MPV Ertiga in India and on 22 April 2012 in Indonesia. Maruti Suzuki advertises him as a first LUV (Life Utility Vehicle). The main competitors in the Asian market are the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Tata Sumo Grande, Toyota Avanza and Nissan Grand Livina. Construction is the Ertiga in Gurgaon in India at Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor in Bekasi of Indomobil. In China, the model is now available and will be produced there in Chongqing Chang'an Suzuki.

The Ertiga is driven either by Suzuki K- series 1.4 -liter gasoline engine or an externally supplied by Fiat 1.3-liter JTD diesel engine. The basis of the model, the Suzuki Swift. The Ertiga is considered to be a cross between a hatchback and an MPV. The Ertiga quickly became the market leader in India before there long best-selling Van Toyota Innova.

When Ertiga is the production version of the R -III ( R3) concept from Maruti Suzuki, which was presented in 2010 on the Indian automobile exhibition. The name Ertiga is an adaptation to the pronunciation R- Tiga Tiga with three means in Indonesian language and the R stands for rows. On the 16th Indonesia International Motor Show three new concepts of Ertiga were presented and introduced later in the series: sports, luxury and crossover.

Since January 2013 Maruti - Suzuki installed a dual air conditioning.
