SV Prussia-Samland Königsberg

The SV Prussia - Samland Königsberg was a German football club in the East Prussian capital Königsberg.

History

The club was founded in 1904 by well-trodden members of the SC East Prussia Konigsberg FC Prussia in 1904 Königsberg and merged in 1908 with Sport Circle Sambia 1904 Königsberg ( which was also founded by former SCO members ) to the sports association Prussia Sambia Königsberg. Home was Prussia Sambia in Amalienau district. There was also the sports field Steffeckstraße on which from time immemorial the home games were played. He offered 6,000 spectators.

In 1910, Prussia Sambia was first Master was founded three years earlier Baltic Lawn Sports Association ( BRV ) and could thus force a play to take part in the first round of the final round of the German football championship against the Mark Master Tasmania 1900 Rixdorf contest. However, the game ended on April 10, 1910 at Friedlander Torplatz in Königsberg clearly with 1:5 lost.

In the game year 1912/13, the Königsberg could again win the title of Baltic and North East German champion, lost in the final of the German Cup, however, in the quarter-final against Viktoria 89 Berlin Berlin away on Union Square with 1:6. In the years 1913 /14, 1930/31 and 1932/33, the SV Prussia - Samland three more times celebrated winning the regional title, could never be in the final of the German Cup, however, to enforce. After the introduction of Gauliga East Prussia in 1933, the SV Prussia - Samland could with the city rivals VfB Königsberg and the increasingly strong military associations from Olsztyn and Insterburg no longer keep up. 1944 had to be adjusted and 1945, the play mode, after the once- German Königsberg was occupied and annexed by the Soviet Union, Prussia Sambia was dissolved.

The most famous football player of SV Prussia - Samland Konigsberg was born on December 12, 1909 Fritz Ruchay who brought it to a game for the German national team and worked as a trainer at SV Waldhof Mannheim, Stuttgart Kickers and the VfR Kaiserslautern later.
