Svatopluk Pluskal

Svatopluk Pluskal (born 28 October 1930 in Zlín, Czechoslovakia, † 29 May, 2005 Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic) was a Czech football player and football coach. He was considered technically good, strong and combative midfielder header.

Playing career

Svatopluk Pluskal began playing football at SK at Letna Zlín, 1947, he moved to Bata Zlín. 1952, the midfielder from ATK Prague ( 1956 Dukla ) was obliged, for whom he played until 1966. With Dukla Pluskal was eight times Czechoslovak champion and twice Cup winners. He played 282 first division matches in which he scored 37 goals. 1966/67, he played for LIAZ Jablonec and ended at season's end his career.

Between 1952 and 1965 he played 56 times for the Czechoslovakian national team and scored a goal here. He participated in the 1954 World Cup, 1958 and 1962, moreover, at the European Championships in 1960.

Pluskal was in 1963 in the World Stars, 1964 in Europe Choice.

Coaching career

From 1968 he worked as an assistant coach at Bohemians Prague, 1969/70 he was head coach there. From 1971 to 1974 and again from 1976 to 1978 he was a coach at Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus. 1974/75 he was again assistant coach at Bohemians. From 1978 to 1979 he trained Škoda Plzeň, 1980/81 Slovan Plzen and finally 1981/82 BS Vlašim.
