Sven Riederer

Sven Riederer ( born March 27, 1981 in Zurich Albisrieden ) is a Swiss triathlete and multiple and reigning Swiss champion (2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013 ).

Career

In his youth, Riederer was sporting versatile; he played tennis and football, drove ski races and was float. In 1994, he took in Bubikon first time in a triathlon in part, reaching 16th place. The international breakthrough came in 2001 with the European Junior Championship title. The Swiss Sports Aid Foundation Riederer recorded as a junior athlete of the year 2001. He was in the category U -23 European Champion and second in the 2002 World Cup. In 2003 he won the gold medal in the team competition at the European Championships. He denies mainly race the Olympic distance: 1,5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running.

His greatest success came Riederer at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, when he won the bronze medal behind the New Zealanders Hamish Carter and Bevan Docherty. 2005 followed by a third place at the European Championship. With his running skills Riederer belongs there too to Swiss lace. He was already three times (2006, 2008, 2010 ) win the Swiss Championship in the 10 - km run on the road.

Since 2010, Riederer starts team for the EWZ Power. He is a member of the Swiss Triathlon Team London 2012. Riederer was appointed a member of the " Gold Group " for the 2011 season by the International Triathlon Union ( ITU) - the ten best men and women of previous years represent the ITU in public and secure their national associations for each of the seven races of the ITU World Championship Series one additional place.

He could already qualify for the second time for a starting place at the Olympic Games in June 2012 and will go to London together with Nicola Spirig, Daniela Ryf and Ruedi Wild for Switzerland at the start.

The Swiss multiple master Riederer is a skilled metal worker and he lives with his wife and son in Wallisellenstrasse.
