Sven Thunman

Sven Ragnar Thunman ( born April 20, 1920 in Södertälje, † July 8, 2004 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

At club level, Sven Thunman played exclusively for his hometown club Södertälje SK. From 1941 to 1959, he joined with his team in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, at. With his team he won in 1944, 1953 and 1956 respectively to the national championship.

Internationally

For Sweden Thunman took part in the Winter Olympics 1948 in St. Moritz and in Oslo in 1952. At the Olympic Winter Games 1952 he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team Sweden was also European champion. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1953 and 1954. During the 1953 World Cup, he won the gold medal with Sweden and was also with his country European champions. In the 1954 World Cup, he won the bronze medal with his team.
