Sven Tippelt

Sven Tippelt ( born June 3, 1965 in Leipzig ) is a former German unit Turner. His greatest successes at national and international level, including three medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics, he won the all-around, parallel bars and rings in gymnastics.

Sporting successes

Sven won Tippelt starting a silver medal in team all-around as well as one bronze medal in the individual competitions in bars and rings in gymnastics at the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul in 1988 for the German Democratic Republic (GDR). In the individual all-around, he finished in fourth place. Four years later, he reached the fourth place in the team all-around at the Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona in 1992 with the German team. In contrast, the individual competitions he succeeded to any device the way into the final round.

The World Gymnastics Championships Sven Tippelt won with the East German team in 1989, a silver medal and a bronze medal in the 1985 and 1987 team all-around. Life after competitive sports

After the 1992 Olympics, Sven Tippelt pulled due to injury from the international competitive sport back in the following years he started until 2000 in Bundesliga matches. Since the end of his active career, he acts as a coach and referee for the North Rhine- Westphalian club TuS Leopoldshohe. He has a degree in physical education teacher whose sports club SC DHfK Leipzig was also his home club of the German University of Physical Culture in Leipzig. After retraining, he has worked as a physical therapist since 2001.
