Svend Wad

Svend Wad ( born February 3, 1928 in Bov, † December 4, 2004 in Haderslev ) was a Danish lightweight boxer.

Career

As an amateur Wad 1946 Danish title, anyway 1947-1949 Master of Jutland. At the European Championships 1947 in Dublin, he took a third place. In 1948 he took part in the London Olympics and won the bronze medal in the lightweight there.

In 1949 he became a professional. On February 16, 1951, he boxed against Jørgen Johansen at the Danish Championship, but was beaten on points over ten rounds. He suffered his second defeat on October 26, 1951 in Geneva against Duilio Loi. Then he punched only sporadically, until 1958, he played only four more fights. With the exception of dealing with Loi all his fights in Copenhagen took place.
