Svitiaz

The Switjaz' Lake (Ukrainian Світязь ) in Ukraine is an average of 6.3 m deep lake in Volhynia. With a length of 7.8 km and a width of up to 4.1 km, the surface ca is 27 km ². The lake is 58.4 m deep at its deepest point and thus the deepest lake in Ukraine. He is the main lake the group consisting of 24 lakes Shatsk group.

The Switjassee located in the Volyn oblast in the north- west of Ukraine within the National Park Shatsk (Ukrainian Шацькі озера ). This area is known as the most beautiful and cleanest area of Ukraine in ecological relationship and since November 1995 as an internationally important and worth protecting wetlands under the Ramsar Convention for the protection of wetlands.

In the middle of the lake is a wooded island with about 7 hectares.
