Swann Oberson

Swann Oberson ( born July 26, 1986 in Geneva ) is a Swiss swimmer. They will start for the club Natation Sportive Genève and lives in Thônex. In addition to the Swiss it also has French citizenship.

Oberson took at the age of twelve years, first part in swimming competitions. She specialized in the long freestyle tracks and on long-distance swimming. At the national level, they initially remained in the shadow of European champion Flavia Rigamonti. This changed in 2007, when she won her first title of Swiss Champion 1500m Freestyle. In the same year she reached at the Universiade in Bangkok 7th place

In the European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven in 2008 she finished fifth over 1500 meters freestyle. On April 19, 2008, it achieved in Bellinzona their first national record when she eight year old record by almost nine seconds undercutting than 1500 m in the short track Riga Montis ( 16:23,02 minutes).

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Oberson succeeded at inaugural 10 -kilometer race her most valuable result. They finished sixth.

With the World Swimming Championships in 2011 in the East China Sea off Shanghai she became world champion over 5km in 1:00:39,7 hours before Aurelia Muller from France ( 1:00:40,1 ).
