Swansea City ( officially: Swansea City Association Football Club ) - also known as The Swans ( German Swans ) - is a football club from Swansea in Wales, who since the 2011/12 season in the top division, the Premier League, plays and in February 2013 with the League Cup for the first time won a trophy in England. The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and 1969/1970 renamed Swansea City.
