Swedish general election, 1924

In September 1924 election to the Second Chamber of the Swedish Parliament took place.

In 1923 there had been a split in the Liberal Party. The majority, ( a total ban on alcohol ) advocated the prohibition, formed the Liberal People's Party. The minority that was against the prohibition, founded the Liberal Party. In 1934 there was a reunion of the two liberal parties.

Even when the Communists came to a split. The old communist party did not support the Communist International, the newly founded Communist Party, however.

After the election, there was a detachment of Prime Minister Ernst Trygger (General Confederation voters ), who led a conservative minority government, through the Social Hjalmar Branting.
