Swedish general election, 1968

The election to the Second Chamber of the Swedish Parliament took place on 15 September 1968. It was the last election before the introduction of the single-.

The Social Democrats won for the first time since 1940, ensuring absolute majority. Socialist Prime Minister Tage Erlander was able to execute his office continues without being instructed on toleration, such as the Communists.

The Centerpartiet rose for the first time to the second largest party. The communist Left Party was able to win only three seats.
