Swedish Ornithological Society

Sveriges Ornitologiska Förening ( SOF, Swedish Ornithological Society ) is a Swedish association for bird protection and avifaunistic research. SOF has regional groups throughout Sweden; the SOF members operate numerous Beringungs stations. Fältbiologerna, the youth organization of Svenska Naturskyddsföreningen, often working in ornithological matters, together with SOF.

The headquarters is located in Stockholm. The SOF is the Swedish partner of Birdlife International.

The well-known author of identifying birds leaders, Lars Svensson is a member of the taxonomic Commission of the SOF.
