Sweet Charity

Sweet Charity is a musical based on Federico Fellini's film Nights of Cabiria (Le Notti di Cabiria ) 1957, the Neil Simon adapted for the stage. The music was composed by Cy Coleman, the song lyrics Dorothy Fields. The idea for the musical came from Bob Fosse. Fosse also directed and choreographed the show, which premiered on January 29, 1966 at the Palace Theatre on Broadway. In the role of Charity Hope Valentine, Gwen Verdon was seen. The first performance in London's West End was on 11 October 1967 at the Prince of Wales Theatre. The German -language premiere was held at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden on 7 February 1970.

Action

The Amüsiermädchen Charity, dancing for money with men has not lost her faith in the goodness of people and the eternal pure love, even after eight years in this job.
